tales from the spa

Ada and I have been spending quite a bit of time in St. Albert with Grandma and Grandpa. It was easy in October since my mom had taken almost the whole month off but come November she started having clients again. At first I was worried - nothing like getting a manicure and hearing a baby crying (not that Ada actually makes any significant amount of noise) but the concern was still valid. Little did I realize she was part of the attraction and that really I should just be renting her out for snuggle time.

Of course this has lead to a couple of really cute instances:

1. Bryan (my brother) was holding Ada and someone came into the living room to see her. She touched Bryan on the arm and said, "Ah, she looks just like you." Then she looked at me and said, "and she looks just like her mommy too." I responded, "she also looks a lot like her daddy but he's at work - this is her uncle Bryan."

2. My dad had just come home from a few days out of town and was cuddling with Ada. Mom came and took her for just a "couple" of minutes. 15 minutes later dad commented on the fact that more than a few minutes had gone by and it wasn't fair that a stranger was holding his grand-baby during prime cuddle time. 5 minutes later Mom came back and offered her up ... of course the winner who got her had the luxury of bathing her. She had just finished crapping all over the client. Then you hear my Dad giggling - he he he ... that's what she gets - good thing I did her diaper up nice and loose - way to go Ada.
