Adventures in Parenting

Or as it should be more appropriately named, "the bodily fluid" stage in life. I have discovered over the course of the past two weeks that you just get used to never being clean. I just figured little Ada would be in constant need of being changed not realizing that I personally needed to carry around multiple changes of clothes in the diaper bag. But I do have to admit that it has been well worth it.

Fun moments from the first two weeks of little Ada's life:

  • Watching her gain strength - by day two she was rolling onto her side from her back and then from her side back to her back and now she can roll from her back all the way to her stomach and keeps attempting to hold her little head up all by herself.
  • Watching all her little expressions - who knew a baby could make so many terrific faces. I've decided she's about as photogenic as me, meaning not really at all and so we tend to miss all the cute smiles and capture the weird looks and funny faces. Warren and I have developed a great method for photography: Brute force. We figure that in a set of ~100 photos at least a few should turn out that look cute.
  • Hearing her growl - Ada doesn't really cry unless we really piss her off but has learned to growl like a tiger ... not a clue where that came from.
  • Seeing Grandpa and Grandma fight over her ... I swear they carry around a stop watch and time each others turns.

Awesome photos! That last one made me laugh out loud. She's obviously saying "Jaysus GOD, put DOWN the camera already!!" :-D

Yeah - she also wasn't too impressed when we stuck her in a pile of leaves but I had to give it a try ... part of our brute force methodology behind baby pictures.
